Discourses on PROUT is a book of 34 pages published for the first time on October 17, 1959 in Jamalpur (India) by the philosopher and social reformer Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar aka Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (1921-1990). It's a part of the social writings of Sarkar and contains a summary of lectures delivered by the author to the first conference of Progressive Utilisation Theory (PROUT). The book was originally published as "A Discussion" and renamed "Discourses on PROUT" in the current 'edited' version. The author begins by framing the concept of universalism in a philosophical and spiritual background, then extending his vision on the socio-economic context and giving multiple suggestions for a new organization and renewal of human society, considered by the author to be one and indivisible. At the end of the volume Sarkar advocates the advent of a "Cosmic Society", based both on a new spiritual vision and on a decentralised socio-economic structure, which guarantees the fundamental human values and social wrights.
