Yellow Springs Kids Playhouse or YSKP is a nonprofit summer theater program for children based in Yellow Springs, Ohio. YSKP has been operating continuously since its founding in 1995 by artistic director John Fleming. Each summer roughly 100 kids, ages ten to eighteen, participate in a six week program, including auditions, rehearsals, and the final presentation of two summer productions one of which is a full-length musical. Since 1997, the musical has been commissioned specifically for YSKP, with playwrights including Carlyle Brown, Tony Dallas, and Peggy Pettitt. YSKP musicals have included adaptations of Frankenstein, Sense and Sensibility, The Tempest, Robin Hood, Homer Price, and Bonanza. In 2003, Fleming became the first artist to receive a fellowship from the International Peace Research Association.
