XT Brewing Company is a craft micro brewery located at Notley Farm, Long Crendon near Thame, in the county of Buckinghamshire, England. History The XT Brewing Company started brewing in 2011. The company was formed by Russell Taylor and Gareth Xifaras - giving rise to the name XT, after a three year search for suitable premises and while they raised funding. Russell also spent some of this time as an apprentice brewer at another micro brewery. The site at Notley Farm was found early in 2011 and works commenced to convert the buildings into a brewery. An all new 20 barrel brewhouse was commissioned from Malrex Fabrications in Burton upon Trent During building works, a small pilot plant was used to produce five new beers for Aylesbury, Oxford and Egham USC beer festivals. One of the beers: 'XT-XX' winning 'best in festival' award at Aylesbury. The first commercial XT beer was brewed on the 3rd November and called 'FOUR', subsequently additional XT beers were made and followed the numerical naming convention particular to their brand. Beers are supplied directly from the brewery to Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and West London. Additional Fermenting Vessels and casks purchased in the early part of 2012 to increase capacity. Again further brewing capacity was added in June 2013 and an extension to storage facilities. June 2013 saw the release of a sub-brand called Animal Brewing Co (Animal Brewery) - this allowed for the brewing of more experimental one-off beers with more varied beer names. October 2013 The XT company purchased their first pub in Hinckley, Leicestershire. April 2014 - Member of the newly formed Alliance of Oxford Brewers June 2014 - XT Beer Club launched. Beers The branding uses a simplified numerical and colour system to show the nature of the beers and how they fit into the full range of beers. The beers are generally cask conditioned but are also available in Keg, oak cask conditioned and bottled versions.
