Xpress Engine

Xpress Engine is a junior level open source Content Management System (CMS), often used as a Bulletin board system application, powered by PHP and MySQL. It has less features than most other modern systems but does include a module architecture and a skin system. Xpress Engine is an open-source junior level web development project based on LGPL. It was first released on Feb 28, 2008. As of January 2012, version 1.5.1.2 has been introduced yet still lacks features like backups, file upload, and English support.
Features
Xpress Engine is a Korean web framework developed separately from Zeroboard 4, a widely used online bulletin board system in South Korea and has a recent implementation that has some English features. Its development is in progress with the purpose of creating a framework that can be used as a universal website builder. Xpress Engine implemented various features that web administrators’ need as modules, such as bulletin board, blogs, shopping malls, and wiki, unlike the Zeroboard. It was formerly known as 'Zeroboard XE', but as version 1.1.0 with CMS features was officially introduced, it was renamed to meet the concept of the CMS.
When the name was maintained as Zeroboard, it was in the form of a homepage builder until the release of version 1.0.6, that could operate various sites and blogs. After the version 1.1.0, which was renamed as Xpress Engine, it was equipped with wide variety of functions, such as the micro-blog (planet) package, and the distribution system using virtual site. Also, as of version 1.4.4, search speed for posting was improved using the nLucene, with its basis on an open-source search engine called Lucene. With the release of version 1.4.0, the license document has been changed from GPL v.2 to LGPL v.2.
Currently, XE Core 1.6 development is in progress but very few developers work on it on a regular basis.
