Xbox Evolved is an Xbox platform-specific videogame website. Xbox Evolved's daily coverage includes reviews, previews, news, hints & cheats, editorials and much more. Additionally, Xbox Evolved offers walkthroughs and guides, YouTube videos of trailers, gameplay and a series of ten-minute beginnings for video games. Xbox Evolved isn’t run by a company or a people getting paid for their opinions, rather average people like their viewers, are college students, marketing consultants, and what they would say the “real” critics of the gaming world.
History
Xbox Evolved was founded in 2002 in by John Olin. The name Xbox Evolved was derived from Xbox, the main subject of the site, and “Halo: Combat Evolved” the game, but in a bigger scope it means the content is evolving with Xbox, games, and the next Xbox, while other sites continue to report on the same mundane subjects.

Xbox Evolved covers everything Xbox related in the gaming industry specifically but also may feature some news and/or editorials about other platforms every now and then. The website has pages for the Xbox 360, Xbox. Additionally, Xbox Evolved provides coverage for Xbox Live Arcade games. Xbox Evolved’s review archive is currently at 523 reviews, making it one of the largest and leading single-platform and Xbox websites on Game Rankings. GameRankings describes the outlet as a, “Quality Site - Used in average game scores.” Xbox Evolved's website lists about eight total staff members led by Michael Ogunnubi (Site Director).
Notability
Xbox Evolved has gained popularity for their consistent reporting of news and content to the Xbox fanbase. Also, On January 7, 2008, Xbox Evolved was the first to confirm the existence of GoldenEye 007 on Xbox Live Arcade. On January 11, 2008, 1UP.com reported that a GoldenEye port (as opposed to a remake) had been in development at Rare for several months, but stated that the title would not be released on the Xbox Live Arcade since "Microsoft and Nintendo couldn't agree on the financial side of things.".
Xbox Evolved was also the first to report on the E 74 error with the Xbox 360 and describe the error as well as what causes it. Because of how big and rapid the article grew, it allowed the problem to reach the eyes of a ton of media outlets which ultimately led to Microsoft adding the E 74 error to the extended warranty of the Xbox 360 as of April 14, 2009. As one of the few Xbox sites left to still withhold their unique look and work ethics with staff that does not get paid or is a corporate website, readers around the world appreciate the site a lot more seeing them as average everyday gamers bringing the forum community to a still growing number of over 30,000 members.
