wxDownload Fast (also known as wxDFast) is a multi-platform, free and open-source download manager. It has been built successfully for Microsoft Windows (2000 and XP), Linux, BSD, and OS X. wxDownload Fast is a multi-threaded (aka accelerated or segmented) download manager. This means that it can split a file into several pieces and download the pieces simultaneously. Created in using the wxWidgets library, wxDownload Fast can be built with MinGW or , allowing it to be built with just free/open source tools. It is licensed under the GNU GPL. Features * Faster downloads using Segmented/Multi-threaded/Accelerated transfers * Download resuming * Download scheduling * Easy access to complete downloads * View server messages (HTTP, FTP, file://). No HTTPS support. * Available in multiple languages and easily translated (thanks to the gettext library). Now available in Armenian, Czech, English, German, Hungarian, Indonesian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish * Connection to FTP servers which require a password * Calculates the MD5 or SHA-1 checksum of downloaded files so they can be easily verified * Metalink support * Firefox integration with Flashgot * Proxy server support * Portable version (Windows only) Some users have encountered issues with the WxDownload extension/add-on conflicting with Google Drive / Google Docs, preventing document collaboration and errors generated when attempting to open Google Docs, Spreadsheets and Presentations.
