WrestleSlam Magazine

WrestleSlam Magazine is a bi-monthly pro wrestling publication, currently available in both hardcopy and digital formats. The debut issue of WrestleSlam Magazine was released to the public on January 2, 2011. The magazine is currently in it's first year of production under Editor Joseph Marinaccio. Digital copies retail for $1.00, while the hardcopy retail price varies between $6.99 and $7.99.
The most up to date issue was released in April 2011 in the form of WrestleSlam Magazine's WrestleMania XXVII Special Collector's Issue. Issue #3 of WrestleSlam Magazine is scheduled to be released in mid-August 2011, however an exact date has yet to be given.
History
WrestleSlam Magazine was announced on November 26, 2010, however a release date for the first issue of the magazine was not announced. It was only said that the magazine would be launched in early-2011 In December 2010 it was announced that the first issue would be released on January 2, 2011. The first issue was released to mixed reviews, praising the content, but criticizing the magazine's design flaws. In a press release, WrestleSlam Magazine stated that they were working within the limitations of some digital devices that were going to carry WrestleSlam Magazine in the future.
The second issue was released with a collage-style cover featuring moments in WrestleMania history. This design was well received and deemed a sizable improvement over the design of Issue #1. A "From the Editor" column also debuted in Issue #2.
Issue #3 of WrestleSlam Magazine is currently under development and scheduled for an August 2011 release date. It has been confirmed that the Issue will feature a Tribute to "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
Digital Expansion
Joseph Marinaccio, the Editor of WrestleSlam Magazine, has been public about plans to expand WrestleSlam Magazine to as many digital devices as possible. An iPhone and Android developer himself, he stated in a press conference that the print industry was failing and he had every intention to optimize WrestleSlam Magazine for eReaders, smartphones, and tablets. Issue #2 was the first issue of WrestleSlam Magazine to be made available in PDF format, however in the future it has been confirmed that there are plans to expand beyond selling PDF-file copies of the magazine.
Columnists
Writers for WrestleSlam Magazine were recruited from various websites in late 2010. Writers from The Bleacher Report, WrestleZone.com, NoDQ.com, and various other pro wrestling websites were brought onto WrestleSlam Magazine. The writing team has not been changed since the magazine's launch and still consists of six online pro wrestling journalists: Martyn Nolan, Ryan Smith, Duane Doogan, Nicholas Drenkalo, John Kindelan, and Draven Cage as well as Editor Joseph Marinaccio.
Mick Foley Rumors
In May 2011, via twitter, WrestleSlam Magazine contacted Mick Foley with the message "@realMickFoley -- Follow so I can Private Message you about a donation to RAINN? WrestleSlam would like to work something big out..." It was noted by fans that Mick Foley did follow the WrestleSlam twitter account after the message, however what, if anything, materialized from the contact has yet to be seen. The tweet strongly hinted at WrestleSlam Magazine making a large donation to RAINN, a charity Mick Foley has been actively involved in.
