General overview
The film focuses on the plight of the citizens of Tskhinvali during the 2008 South Ossetia war. There are numerous interviews with civilians and Russian peacekeeping troops that saw the devastation in Tskhinvali during the war. The film first focuses on the early stages of the Battle of Tskhinvali, telling the general situation, as well as many individual stories of civilians and the city's defenders. The documentary even tells a story of how the South Ossetian president and his bodyguards knocked out a Georgian tank. It frequently presents the attack as genocide, claiming that the Georgians were trying to exterminate the civilian population. The story soon focuses on the Russian troops liberating Tskhinvali and mentions the Georgian retreat, as well as a short clip of Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili and his bodyguards fleeing from what they presume are Russian aircraft. The film then ends with on-the-spot interviews with civilians, as well as comments from peacekeepers in the city. One man even remarked that he had been born in Tblisi, but the Georgians are now the enemy of him and his children, and he will never live with the Georgian people again. When the credits appear the words are on one side, fire on the other.
English version
Although the documentary is in Russian, there is a version with English subtitles, currently available on Youtube. However, there are a few minor and barely noticeable spelling mistakes.
