World Waterfall Database The World Waterfall Database is an online resource that is the result of a collaboration of two dedicated waterfall enthusiasts, Bryan Swan and Dean Goss. Both individuals share a fascination with waterfalls and maintain their own websites to display their photographs, and chronicle their explorations so that other people seeking to enjoy waterfalls would have access to information that would facilitate their own visits. As the Database evolved, the underlying principles evolved too. Natural resources such as parklands, forests and water face a steady stream of threats. Conservation and environmentalism become more and more critical as time goes on. The World Waterfall Database hopes to instill a renewed appreciation of our resources and our natural heritage. After years of research, a substantial volume of data has been accumulated. To date, the World Waterfall Database has information concerning approximately 25,000 waterfalls worldwide covering over 150 countries. At the present time, approximately 1000 of these are online, however a major revision is planned for the summer of 2009.
