World of Warcraft Classes: Warlock

World of Warcraft Classes: Warlock World of Warcraft Background World of Warcraft is a Massive Multiplier Online Role Playing Game(MMORPG). World of Warcraft is played by millions of people around the world. The makers of World of Warcraft Blizzard Entertainment have created a game where massive amounts of real human beings form communities inside different fictional realms. In these realms people choose what faction their character will belong to, Alliance or Horde. In World of Warcraft each race belongs to one of the two factions and only certain races can be certain classes. Each class has 3 different ways of playing that class called specializations (spec). Each spec is either a Tanking (having all enemies attack you so they will not attack your party members and soaking up damage), DPS (Damage Per Second) (damaging or controlling the enemies), or Healing (healing party members). These different roles are used for leveling, questing, pvping (player vs. player battles), dueling, battle grounds, and raiding. Every class has at least one DPS spec but only certain classes have tanking or healing specs. The Faction-Race-Class List is below Alliance Draenei: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Dwarf: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Gnome: Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Death Knight, and Monk Human: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Night Elf: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Worgen: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, and Death Knight Horde Blood Elf: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Goblin: Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior, and Death Knight Orc: Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Tauren: Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Troll: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Undead: Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Death Knight, and Monk Neutral (until level 10) Pandaren (can be Horde or Alliance): Monk, Mage, Rogue, Warrior, Hunter, Priest, and Shaman The Warlock Class Warlocks are similar to mages except they use the demonic arts instead of fire, frost, or arcane magic. They are masters of the dark arts using curses, fire bolts and shadow spells in combat with their enemies. They also use their magic to make health stones and buff party members. Warlocks are unique in the way that they use Soul Stones to perform some of the abilities or spells, such as summoning party members to their location, summoning their minions and converting soul stones to health. Warlocks are known for their DOTS (Damage Over Time Spells) and curses. Warlocks kill their opponents slowly by cripplingly them and then kiting them around the battle area (in some way slowing down an enemy's movement speed thus making them chase while not being able to hit you because of the suppressed movement speed). Warlocks are also known for their minions that they control. They can have two sets of minions depending on if you choose to have the talent which allows you to have a more powerful version of your minion. Warlock Character Type: Ranged Caster Bars: Health Bar, Mana Bar, and Soul Stone or Burning Embers nodes (Demonology has a demonic fury bar while in demon form) Available Armor: Cloth Available Weapons: Wands, Daggers, Staves, One-handed Swords Minions: Warlocks can summon a variety of minions, each exhibiting different skill sets which are useful in different situations. • Imp is a warlock's first minion, providing ranged damage initially and useful passive abilities and procs at higher levels. • Voidwalker, available at level 8 makes an excellent tank for a soloing warlock. • Felguard, available to warlocks upon specializing in the Demonology tree, is a warrior-type tank that deals more damage than a Voidwalker, and has other increased tank-type capabilities at higher levels. • Succubus is a female demon that offers arguably the highest damage output. She also has two useful crowd-control abilities, and , and is very good for PvP. • Felhunter is a demon pet that increases the warlock's intellect through and also has some powerful magic debuffs that work both offensively and defensively. A useful PvP pet against caster classes. • Infernal is a temporary summoned demon that does a tremendous amount of AoE damage. • Doomguard is a temporary summoned demon that does a tremendous amount of direct damage to one or two targeted enemies. The 3 Warlock Specializations Affliction • Increased damage while using curses, DOTS, and draining spells. Uses Soul Shards Demonology • Master of demons, which also increases survivabilty. Strengthens demons and gives the warlock the ability to transform into a demon. Uses demonic fury to power its spells, while in demon form. Uses Soul Shard as well. Destruction • Almost like an arcane mage in the way it uses burst damage to kill its opponents. Uses mostly fire and shadowflame spells. Uses Burning Embers (comparable to soul shards) Each specialization gives the warlock [http://us.battle.net/wow/en/tool/talent-calculator#V! multiple spells, talents, and passive abilities.] Playing Styles in PvP and PvE PvP (Player vs. Player) • Get the best gear for your specialization • Learn your class • 1v1 Battle against Melee - Dot him with spells and cursing then kite him around.
