Woome

WooMe is an introductions platform that utilizes in-browser voice and video technology for live web cam chat.
WooMe.com allows users to publish their free web cam chats to WooMe TV. Some celebrities, including Tila Tequila and Stephanie Pratt, have used WooMe to meet their fans and publish their live web cam chat sessions for marketing themselves and brand promotion.
Users can create speedy 2x2 or 3x3 chat sessions that can last 60 seconds, 90 seconds, or two minutes for free webcam chat. Sessions can be male meets female or anyone meets anyone.
The service is currently free of charge, but they are going to introduce a paid model soon.
History
WooMe was founded in 2006 and has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and London.
WooMe opened to the public in November of 2007 when the site went officially Beta. In September of 2008 WooMe TV was introduced. WooMe TV gives users the ability to publish their video chat sessions and obtain notoriety by broadcasting themselves live on camera as they meet people online.
Community
Fans of WooMe's free webcam chatting have cultivated a community by linking up across across external social networking sites including Facebook, YouTube, MySpace and Twitter. Fans stay in touch with each other on these external WooMe communities to voice their opinions, concerns and feedback about the site.
Founders
Stephen Stokols, WooMe's CEO, began his career by contributing to Accenture, helping build its e-business from scratch. He co-founded JustWhatIWant.com (which sold profitably in 2000), was a key figure in organizing CMGI's online portfolio, became the online director of Qwest Communications and in 2004 became the youngest VP of Strategy and Business Development for BT.
George Berkowski, WooMe's Product Director, began his career with Trilogy Inc. before moving onto MirCorp as the VP of marketing and business where he helped send the first tourist to space.
Nic Ferrier, WooMe's CTO, "is a hacker." He has contributed to systems for the UK Civil Service, BT and Thompson and volunteer work for the GNU Project.
Steven Sesar, prior to being WooMe's VP of Marketing and Business Development, lead business developments for Shopzilla, co-founded GTI Solutions, LLC and was the Technology, Media and Communications consultant for Anderson's Business Consulting Group's LA division.
