Woodville North railway station

Woodville North was a railway station located on the Finsbury railway line in the Adelaide suburb of Woodville North, South Australia.
History
Woodville North station opened in September 1940 when the Finsbury railway line opened from Woodville. The line was initially used to serve the wartime industrial plants at Cheltenham Park and a Government Supply Depot at Finsbury station. Woodville North and all the other stations along the line except Finsbury were just stopping places with basic wooden step down platforms. Due to the line being for industrial purposes, it never really carried actual passenger train services apart from some trains that were scheduled for the workers. After WW2, traffic on the line dwindled. In 1978, South Australian Railways sold the line and its associated infrastructure to government owned State Transport Authority. The last passenger train ran on the line on 17 August 1979 and the line was removed in 1985. There is no longer any trace of the station.
