Wilma Echandy

Wilma Echandy is a Puerto Rican model, actress and beauty pageant titleholder. She represented the US Virgin Islands at Miss Grand International 2014. Her first pageant was Miss Mundo Latina US 2011 where she placed 2nd finalist representing Guayama PR obtaining the title of Queen of Puerto Rico 2012 for the Queen of the World. She also competed at Miss Global International 2011 representing USA. As a model she has been in music videos, fashions shows and many other fashion events.

Echandy didn't place but was consider one of the top 30 best personal interviews and the audience considered her National Costume one of the best. Her costume was inspired by the sea and was created by David Rodriguez. Her evening gown was designed by her, sewed by a Puerto Rican designer and all the details were handmade by her and her mother. The color of her gown was inspired my the coral color of a sea shell.

Early life
Echandy was born on October 28, 1991 in Guayama, Puerto Rico to a Puerto Rican mother and father. She moved to USA when she was 12 years of age. She speaks Spanish and English fluently. She was raised by her mother and older sister Wilmary Echandy- Gbandi. Echandy has six half bothers and sisters from her dad. Her father William Echandy Ochoa M.D, was convicted in Puerto Rico for a felony related to the distribution of controlled substances causing the DEA to revoked his DEA certification meaning his license to practice medicine was canceled permanently and was sentence to jail.
