William S. Boyd is the Circuit Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County Domestic Relations Division, Chicago, Illinois. He is most well known for his historic decision to split a mega-rich couple's assets 50-50 in their divorce settlement. Career Boyd is a graduate of University of Illinois and received his law degree from NIU College of Law in 1980. From 1983 to 1986, he was partner in the firm Boyd & Boyd, Ltd. in Chicago. He was appointed as judge in 1988. He is best known for his June 4, 2007 $184 million divorce judgment in energy magnate Michael Polsky and his wife Maya Polsky's divorce settlement. |
