The Will County CrackerJacks are a summer collegiate amateur baseball team based in Plainfield, Illinois. Founded in December, 2010, the CrackerJacks are set to begin its inaugural season on June 3, 2011. The team is a member of the Midwest Collegiate League (MCL) and consists of college players from mostly the midwest region of the United States. The 2011 roster will be finalized in May, 2011. Team History The CrackerJacks were founded by Jamie Toole in December 2010. Over 200 applications were received to help name the team, and on March 1, 2011, the Will County CrackerJacks were officially formed. Inaugural Season The CrackerJacks are set to begin play on June 3, 2011 against the Chicago Zephyrs, an MCL opponent based in Elgin, Illinois. The 2011 roster will be released in mid-May and the club will be led by manager Vern Hasty. The finalized schedule can be viewed online. Promotions The CrackerJacks advertised several promotions before the 2011 season, including discounted season tickets in the [http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5181/5629096365_c5c1e4f634_b.jpg "Return to Route 59" Promotion] and the "Lead-Off Luncheon," featuring former Chicago Cubs star and current Chicago Cubs broadcaster Keith Moreland. Manager Vern Hasty will lead the CrackerJacks in 2011 for its inaugural season. Hasty was the manager of Chicago State's baseball team from 2006 to 2007. Midwest Collegiate League The Midwest Collegiate League announced its formation in January, 2011.
