WikiProject Video games

The WikiProject Video games is a collaborative effort dedicated to improving 's coverage of topics related to video games. It is entirely part of and open to all contributors. Its main focus is to provide guidelines and recommendations to editors and to serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to video games on . Launched on the English language edition of the site in February 2004, the project currently exists in 20 languages.
Due to its strict adherence to policies on article notability and sourcing, the project has attracted criticism from game researcher Richard Bartle and entrepreneur Raph Koster, as well as the British gaming magazine Edge. Charlie Barratt of the website GamesRadar has mocked the project, feeling the contributors give excessive weight to video game topics as compared to other, "important" topics.
