West Hitchin

West Hitchin is an area of early twentieth-century residential development in Hitchin in Hertfordshire, located towards the west and south west of the town: it is considered an upmarket area. It is included in Hitchin Priory ward for Local Government elections. Facilities in the area include Samuel Lucas JMI school, Hitchin Cricket Club, Hitchin Lacrosse Club and Blueharts Hockey Club. Development plans Substantial development on the green belt in West Hitchin was proposed in 2008. The future of this proposal was unclear after Luton Borough Council unanimously decided in November 2009 to abandon the proposal. |
