Wes Moss

Wes Moss (born March 30, 1976) is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, managing partner, and Chief Investment Strategist at Capital Investment Advisors, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to his work with Capital Investment Advisors, Moss is the host of the Retire Sooner podcast and Money Matters, a weekly call-in financial show on 95.5 WSB - Atlanta’s News and Talk. Moss is also the author of four books including What the Happiest Retirees Know (McGraw Hill/2021); serves as financial columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution; acts as editor of WesMoss.com; and is a frequent resource for journalists across all mediums - print, tv, radio, and online.
Early life and education
Moss was born on March 30, 1976 in West Chester, Pennsylvania where his mother currently resides. His father lives near Lancaster, Pennsylvania working as a veterinarian. Moss is the oldest of four children, two younger brothers and one younger sister.
In 1998, Moss graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a degree in economics.
Career
After college, Moss moved to Atlanta to work for UBS Financial Services before appearing on the second season of NBC's The Apprentice with Donald Trump in 2004.
In 2009, Moss joined forces as a partner with Capital Investment Advisors (CIA), where he is now the Chief Investment Strategist. CIA currently manages more than 4 billion dollars in client assets, making it one of Georgia’s largest fee-only investment firms, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. He also became the host of MONEY MATTERS - a live call-in, investment and personal finance radio show - on News 95-5FM and AM 750 WSB.
In 2010, Moss became the financial columnist for Atlanta Journal Constitution.
In 2014, Moss was the host of Atlanta Tech Edge, a weekly TV show on Atlanta’s NBC affiliate WXIA, covering the fascinating business of technology within the state of Georgia. He was also the financial consultant for Spike TV’s show, Life Or Debt.
From 2014 on, has named Moss as one of America’s top 1,200 Financial Advisors. In 2014, he was named as one of the top 40 investment advisors (under 40) in the country by Investment News in their inaugural list.Moss was also named one of Atlanta’s 40 Under 40 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2015. In both 2021 and 2022, Moss was named by Atlanta Magazine among the Atlanta 500, the magazine's list of the 500 most influential citizens in Atlanta, Georgia.

Personal life
In 2003, Moss married former nurse for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Lynne Presdorf. He now lives in Atlanta with his wife and four sons.
