Weda Sweden are a leading worldwide manufacturer of specialised robotic pool cleaners. Weda is a privately owned Swedish Corporation with its manufacturing and research facility in Södertälje, Sweden and a world wide sales through a network of subsidiaries and distributors. Divisions Weda is internally separated into three distinct sectors: *Pool - Public, private and Municipal Swimming Pools *Water - Reservoirs, sewage works filtration, water works and water distribution and storage *Industry - Pools, storage tanks & reservoirs within industries such as Nuclear Power, glass works, steel works, pulp and paper facilities etc. Pool Weda have been producing Automatic Pool Cleaners since 1975 and have a diverse range of cleaning equipment available to the commercial & residential pool market. The use of such equipment helps to reduce the use of harmful chemicals as well as providing a cleaner and more sanitary environment in which to swim. Current models line-up include :- *W50 The smallest model to date, combining the latest in laser sensor technology coupled with well proven design innovation. Suitable for pools up to 33m *B480 Released in 1986 this was the second fully automatic pool cleaner, smaller and more manageable. Suitable for pools up to 33m. *B600 Released in 1981 this was the first fully automatic pool cleaners. Still considered to be the best of all pool cleaners, designed to clean even the largest Olympic swimming with ease including diving pits. *B680 Introduced in 2002 this is the modern incarnation of the B600. Featuring all the proven and reliable features of the B600 with the addition of a newer cleaning bag and lifting hoop for easier removal from the pool. Water Within the water supply industry there are many processes required to turn water from reservoirs into potable drinking water. Many of these industry's use large storage tanks and filtration beds which in normal operation require regular cleaning to reduce build-up of sand and other debris which if left unchecked are a breading ground for bacteria. Prior to these specialised Weda Cleaners this task was often costly and posed many Health and Safety risks due to enclosed environments. Using Divers in enclosed environments comes with incredible risks and cost but by utilising remotely operated cleaning robots avoids the costly shut-down time. This downtime is avoided as all work can be completed whilst the facilities are in full operation. Current models line-up include :- *VR-600 For cleaning water reservoirs and water towers. The VR-600 is remote controlled and equipped with rotating brushes and a powerful pump that directly pumps out all loosened sediment - without raising turbidity in the reservoir. *YT-800 For cleaning sand filters and large basins. The YT-800 is an electricity-operated remote controlled submersible robot for cleaning large underwater surfaces, such as the bottom of a sand filter. *SD-XX Fixed installation in sedimentation basins. The SD cleaners are customized for fully automatic cleaning of the entire bottom in each specific tank or basin. The SD system is suitable for rectangular, round and many other shapes of basins where traditional chain and flights and other scrapers are unsuitable. *CS-600 An underwater cleaner for tough cleaning jobs with camera. The CS-600 is the perfect cleaner for applications where the bottom sediment has a high content of sand and the visibility under water during the cleaning is good enough to use the camera for orientation. *S-600 An underwater cleaner for tough conditions without camera. The S-600 is the perfect cleaner for applications where the bottom sediment has a high content of sand and a heavy turbidity does not allow for a camera to be used. Industry The Industrial Division handles all sorts of under water cleaning projects that fall outside the two divisions mentioned above. Weda has delivered and installed cleaners in nuclear power plants, glass factories, fish farms, gypsum plants, pulp and paper mills and several other applications where there is a need for cleaning (sludge removal) without having to drain the water. Weda has a unique experience and know-how from more than 50 years activities in the development and production of products for under water use. Weda´s Industrial division is aiming to find solutions for all applications of cleaning under water may it be with existing products, products that need to be customized or new products designed in cooperation with the client. Current models line-up include :- *S-600 Allows for 24 Hour Operation production even during cleaning. The S-600 was installed in a glass factory outside Cairo in Egypt and is used to clean the centre tank in the cooling and cleaning water system. Before they started to use the S-600 they had to close down the production, drain the tank and then refill. A huge cost which also shut-down production for several days incurring huge costs and lost productivity. Now they are able to clean the tank without any interruption of the production that now runs 24/7. The S-600 is equipped with a special set of driving tracks and with lights so that it can be easily identified by the operator outside the tank. *N600 N600 Nuclear power plant applications The installations of the Weda N600 in the nuclear market in the UK & France has allowed for remote controlled cleaning of the cooling tanks for the heating rods. The N600 is specifically designed for these applications. All aluminium parts are painted and all other parts are of stainless steel. The operator cleans of the bottoms from the sediment that has fallen off the heating rods in the tank and is normally resting under water in-between cleaning's. *W70 Wall cleaning under water The W70 has in this special application been specifically designed so that it floats when dropped into the tank. When the pump is started the cleaner moves towards one of the walls in the tank and sucks itself firmly onto the wall. It may then be driven along the entire wall. In this application down to 5-6 meters in depth. Links *Weda *Automatic Pool Cleaners
