In a County Antrim Shield game in 2007 Wayne made his debut for Glentoran after coming on for the injured Elliot Morris. Wayne was quick to impress with a fine save in his first touch of the game and some excellent kicking. Glentoran fans soon warmed to Wayne and he warmed to the fans as the prospect of having such a young and talented player excited the faithful. This match, however, would prove to be his first and last. After much consideration and many trials, Wayne signed a 2 year contract with Millwall FC.
