Way Disciple Program

The Way Disciple Program is a volunteer recruitment project launched by The Way International in 1995. The initial group was sent to large cities mainly in the United States in October 1995, returning on December 16. The second wave of Way Disciples was sent in January 1996.
A program much like this was run by The Way International before and was called the Word Over the World Ambassador Program (WOW). Like the WOW program members, Way Disciples are sent to a location to run local fellowships and recruit new members for the Way International. However, the Way Disciples were to serve a term of 4 months and not one year like those who went WOW. (The commitment timeframe was later moved up to a 6 month term.) The Disciples are sent to cities within the country they volunteered from.
The usual Way Disciple group has one member in charge, (the Coordinator) and contains at least 2 other members. Each new wave is sent out from Way headquarters in New Knoxville, Ohio every October. Although the program was meant to run internationally there have only been teams sent out from the United States and Canada in recent years.
In 1995, Way Productions developed a song which encouraged members to join the program.
