Vorshack Quick Disclaimer This article is not meant to induce any type of fear or base any actions in reality of what you will read. Vorshack is a myth that has been passed down for generations and then added into some literary works. There has never been any factual evidence of his existence. Most of what you will read is mythical lore and storytelling that borders on outlandish. To this date the public has no knowledge of any dragon bones or anything remotely similar being found on earth. That is not to say that they might not be well hidden... In addition, Vorshack is still well alive, and his bones are in his body. Brief History Vorshack a mythical being. He is believed to be well over 1000 years old. He is dragon encased inside of human form. He is in human form at this time because since the dawn of technology dragons have been hunted to the brink of extinction. He is the younger cousin of Smaug who was smote in middle earth by the dwarven warrior Bard of Dale. Vorshack is said to have his layer somewhere in the mountains near Spain. Vorshack, like other dragons, speak many human languages. Vorshack speaks, English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and German as he has spent considerable time in all of the countries where these languages are spoken. Physical Description By all accounts, Vorshack is a terror of a dragon. Dragon's sizes depend largely on their diet as hatchlings, the surrounding area they live in, but predominantly what type of subspecies they are. Smog and Vorshack are the only documented types of what the sorcerers named Xeracks, or "Hell Dragons". Vorshack is easily identifiable due to his red and black scales. He is primarily an entirely black dragon. He has deep slashes of red scales along his back however that mar is sleek blackness. He has been estimated to be of about 45-55 feet from snout to tail and would probably weigh around 12 tons. He has a large spike at the end of his tail which oozes an acidic substance that melts through plate mail like a hot knife cutting through butter. The talons on his claws and feet are well over a foot each, his fangs also extend to well over a foot of pearl white, armor shredding, havoc. The fire that he breaths was said to even permeate however slightly, through Merlin's resistive substance (see Vorshack and the Knight of Camelot). By all accounts Vorshack is one of the few dragons that has truly terrified centuries of different populations. Standing on his hind legs, this ebony 50 foot behemoth struck terror into the hearts of all creatures, humans, dwarves, elves and orcs alike. Vorshack in Middle Earth During the time in which Bilbo Baggins had stumbled across the ring in Mount Baradur, and the Dwarves were preparing to fight their battle with Smog and the Orcs; the elves were quite concerned with creating another settlement apart from Rivendell and Galdriel's Forest. Although the location to both Rivendell and the Forest were quite secure, there were a few people; i.e Gandalf the Grey, Sarumon the White and perhaps Dale the Dwarf knew of their locations. As the elves were very secretive people, they wished to have a settlement that no one but those of Elven lineage would know about; just in case one of those few souls who knew of their location would turn it over whether intentionally or not, to the wrong hands. Sillegon was sent by Elrond to seek out a new and very discreet location for which their secret settlement could be placed. Sillegon went with his band of 35 elves to the Lost Realm of Arnor. They headed north east to the towering Mount Gunduband. Mount Gunduband used to be a mining zone for Mithril centuries earlier and had been deserted for over one hundred years. Sillegon perceived this as a tremendous place to hide their new settlement, as it was incredibly difficult to reach and away from all civilization. Sillegon set about building up the new settlement. The trees had grown thick and strong in the absence of humanoid life and the elves quickly began to set up a new city. First watchtowers and a perimeter wall were built. As more elves came, enchanments and houses were set up and soon this little settlement became a nice town of about 80 elves. It was completeley secret and incredibly difficult to reach. They were safe. As a year rolled around they began to set up a carnival for their annual celebration. Sorcerors set of fireworks, drums were beat, flutes blown, fiddles played. They had a merry and rather boisterous time. They had also gotten quite loud and the ground began to shake. At first the merrymaking continued as they figured the the ground was shaking in time to their music. However, as the ground continued to shake the elves stopped playing and the shaking continued. They then heard a faint rumbling voice, "Who dares to wake me from my slumber? What beings are these that can happily jump up and down upon my doorstep?" The elves looked around in fear and confusion. Where was this voice coming from? "Up here you dolts," the voice said rather lazily. With dawning fear, the elves looked up the slopes of their mountain. About 100 feet up, sat a gigantic, pitch black dragon with shining red eyes and a few deep splotches of read on his sides and legs. "My neighbors, you didn't even say hello" it said with mock sadness in its voice. "Rudeness, very very rude of you elves, when I was a child, they punished rudeness by breathing fire at the offender, perhaps it is time to resort to the old ways!" The dragon launched himself down upon the stunned elves. What followed was a slaughter, normally, elves are of the highest quality fighters. They combine magic with sword play to create such a deadly effect that most enemies would turn tale and run. However, these elves were careless, they were completley unarmed and unsuspecting. They fell easy prey to this vindictive, slaughtering behemoth. The last to die was Sillegon, he used his mind to enchant a nearby bird to take a message to Elrond explaining what had happened. As his message left his mind, he opened his eyes, just in time so see a huge, fanged, bloody mouth slam shut over his torso. Half of his body was taken up in the dragon's mouth, the other half lay next to his fallen comrades, in his burning settlement. Vorshack and the Knight of Camelot In the time of Arthur and Lancelot there were epic quests and horrific massacres. Knights were sent on dangerous missions to save women in distress, capture areas of land, or fight dragons. At this point in time these knights were armed only with: Lances, short and broad swords, plate mail and their brave steeds. These knights of Camelot were some of the most tremendous warriors in Europe. Some of them i.e Lancelot, Gallahad, Moridin and others, went on to be legends. However, some of them were not so lucky. Sir Gerald Kingsley was one of Lancelot's finest men. He had served in the war with Merlin and Moridin and had saved Lancelot from the crumbling debris in the cave of Herytydra. No one ever questioned either Kingsley's skills, dedication, or courage. Kingsley was sitting at the round table when a courrier came running in with his face covered and sweat. He informed Kinglsey that a dragon that had never been seen before had attacked and destroyed much of the town of Gryndin (about 12 miles to the east of Camelot). Kingsley gathered all of his closest knights within the hour. They suited themselves up for their war on the dragon. About a year earlier, Merlin, who had noticed the trouble the knights were having with dragons created a coating that could be put on plate mail to make it entirely flameproof for a few hours. It had worked to tremendous success and with this fire proof armor the casualties of camelot knights fighting dragons had gone down 85%. If 10 of Arthur's knights went out to fight a full grown male dragon. Usually all ten would return, with the occasional casualty if the dragon was overly aggressive and charged them. They would always return with the dragon's head. Because once challenged, a dragon is a very proud creature and will never run from a fight. Coating themselves in this new substance, Kingsley and his 18 men felt very confident in their chances against this new threat. They set out at once for the town of Gryndin in the hope that they would be able to save some lives. When they reached the town, their faces turned ashen. Gryndin had been a large town, with a stout, well made wall that protected them from marauding bands of villains. It had had well over 500 people living in the town. The town was completley gone. Overhead a dragon swooped and soared and screamed at the night in terrible delight. From his mouth hung what looked to be a small child still wriggling limply. With a crunch, the boy dissapeared. Scattered about the town were the charred corpses of its inhabitance. One or two people still crawled weakly on hands and knees. Their clothes burned away and their eyes welded shut. It was the worst attack any of these grizzled knights had ever seen. Kinglsey swallowed the bile that had been coming up in his throat. He gave his speech and they charged the dragon that swooped down joyfully to partake in the new fun. They were all killed. Every single last knight, these trained dragonslayers, were torn limb from limb and cast out over the land. There had never been such a massacre in the history of Camelot, Arthur and Merlin were at a loss as of what to do. Over the years, the great dragon's attacks continued until he was approached by Merlin. Merlin had a long conversation with the dragon as Merlin had waited until the dragon had started to fall asleep so he was most amenable to conversation. Merlin found that the dragon's name was Vorshack and that he was willing to cease his horrible onslaught if King Arthur himself brought him three knights to fight every month. He would fight them in open combat. Merlin and Arthur complied. This was the beginning of the end of Arthur's popularity, the citizens did not much care for human sacrifice and felt unsafe with Arthur as their king. The Terrible Massacre of 1678 In the early 1600s Vorshack left Europe to move to warmer climates. Moving to Hawai'i, he located himself in a large volcano, which constantly erupted. Because of this process, Vorshack's scales became harder than diamond, harder, in fact, than any substance know to man, natural, or manmade. During his time in the volcano, some chemicals and elements came up from the Earth. Despite his regular forays for food, he was always hungry, and ate these elements. Uranium, plutonium, polonium 210, all fell to his terrible hunger. In any quantity, these dangerous elements would normally kill a being, however, they only made Vorshack stronger. His red stripes extended on his back, and the acid from his tail grew more deadly still.
