Vladimir Ronin

Dr. Vladimir Ronin is accredited as the inventor of energetically modified cement (EMC), and is a director of EMC Cement BV — the company which controls the patents to all EMC technology.
In 1973, Dr. Ronin received his Masters in Engineering (with honors), Cement and Concrete Chemical Technology, from the Belorussian Polytechnic University. In 1981, he received his PhD from the Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering (PhD dissertation: "Chemically Resistant Polymer Impregnated Concrete"). From 1973 through 1991, Dr. Ronin was employed by the Minsk Institute of Construction Materials, first as a research engineer, and then Head of its Research Division (1983-1991).
In 1991, Dr. Ronin joined Luleå University of Technology (LTU) in Sweden, first as a guest researcher. In 1999, Dr. Ronin became a Professor at LTU's Division of Structural Engineering, Cement Chemistry and Technology.
At the 45th World Exhibition of Invention, Research and Innovation, held in Bruxelles, Belgium, Dr. Ronin was awarded the Gold Medal "with mention" by the EUREKA Organisation, for discovering the process that produces energetically modified cements. EUREKA is the pan-European research & development funding and coordination organization, comprising amongst others, all 27 EU Member States.
Dr. Ronin has contributed to over 30 patents and has authored more than 50 noted technical publications in a variety of recognized scientific journals. Since 1993, Dr. Ronin has served as Technical Director of EMC Development AB (the research arm of EMC Cement BV).
Dr. Ronin is married with one son and lives in Luleå, Sweden.
