Vivek Yadav

Vivek Yadav is an 2008 IAS Cadre officer, currently serving as the District Collector and Magistrate of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh.
Early life and education
Vivek was born on 13 December 1981 at Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh to Shri Motilal Yadav and Smt. Kanti Yadav. He finished his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya and St. Joseph’s School. Following, he chose KNIT, Sultanpur for his higher studies. After graduating as a computer science engineer, he worked at C-DOT for four and a half years.
Work
Vivek Yadav is the district Collector and Magistrate of Vizianagaram District in Andhra Pradesh, India. Being from the IAS Cadre of the year 2008, Yadav has work experience across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Earlier he has served as the Joint Collector Under Secretary and Joint Collector & Additional District Magistrate at Srikakulam and Guntur district respectively. He also served as the Sub Collector at Adilabad District. His role as Commissioner at Warangal District has been significant with regard to successful waste management in the city. Warangal, under his administration was turned into a dump free city in seven days. He featured in Television Show Satyamev Jayate in an episode covering Waste Management.
Recently, his noteworthy efforts have brought national Award to Vizianagaram District for the effective implementation of the MGNREGA ("Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act", Scheme). Previously he has earned several awards, both at State and National Level. Few of them are Outstanding Performance during Digital India Week celebrations, New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd., and HUDCO Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment 2012-13 etc.
Keeping in view the dismal sanitation scenario in Vizianagaram district, the district administration under Sri. Vivek Yadav planned and successfully implemented a sanitation campaign called "10000 Individual Household Latrine in 100 Hours" during "March 10th to 14th, 2017". The campaign had commenced at 6.00 AM on March 10 and ended by 10.00 AM on March 14, by whose end, 71 Gram Panchayats of the district were declared open defecation free. A total of 10449 toilets were constructed across the district in 100 hours. More than 10000 people participated in the campaign.
His role in successful implementation of land acquisition at Bhogapuram is very much noteworthy and a national model for transparent and participatory land acquisition process.
Recognition
Shri Vivek Yadav received 28th Rank in Civil Service Examination, 2007. for his works on waste management at Warangal District.
His efforts to make Vizianagaram district open defecation free was noticed nationally. Honourable Prime Minister mentioned about the project taken up in the district that build 10000 Intra House Hold Latrines (IHHL) in 100 hours In Mann Ki Baat. This initiative alone created almost 5 percent increase in the total toilet coverage in the district.
He was recognised as one of the determined officers in South India, by The NEWS Minute, a news portal, for his dedicated work to serve the people of the Vizianagaram district.
Vivek participated in people-centric initiatives which gained the district national recognition on effective implementation of MGNREGA programme.
