Vivek Kumar Pandey

Vivek Kumar Pandey is Assistant Professor at K. Banerjee Centre of Atmospheric and Ocean Studies (KBCAOS), Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies (IIDS), Allahabad University. He was born at Ramapur, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh on 1 August 1976 Dr. Pandey is an Indian scientist and academic in the field of Oceanography.
Education and career
He has taken his education from Primary to Bachelor level in Bishunpur, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is intelligent and bold person and got his first rank in NCC Army wing 96 UP BN Jaunpur under Varanasi Group. He done his B.Sc. from Gandhi Smarak P.G. College Samodhpur under Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur (U.P) in 1997 and M.Sc. Physics (Nuclear) in 2000 from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi His open view on any social, political, philosophical and scientific matter and some bold step on university level made him familiar in BHU students. Dr. Pandey was awarded with 1st D.Phil. from KBCAOS, IIDS, Allahabad University in 2007. After this became Project Associate at the Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences(CAOS), Indian Institute of Science(IISc) Bangalore.
Responsibilities and research he carried
Dr. Pandey taken a step to remain as a research scholar of that Atmospheric and Oceanic Research Centre on the request of higher authority educated scientific persons whose existence was itself in pending although he was already selected a 1st batch Junior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR), Goa in 2001. The Centre finally came in existence and he got the honored with "First Doctoral and also Post Doctoral student" from the centre which known as K. Banerjee Centre of Atmospheric and Ocean Studies (KBCAOS), Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies (IIDS), Allahabad University. His thesis is first thesis from the KBCAOS, IIDS, AU. Dr. Pandey visited the International centre for theoretical Physics(ICTP), Trieste, Italy in 2004 for training in a series lecture "on Climate dynamics for University Lecturers" as a visiting scientist. He also selected as Institute RA at Indian Institute of tropical Meteorology (IITM) Pune in October, 2007 at first position. He have firm determination to work for India Govt. institution and in extra time of his personal life he want to serve the people of India with his thoughts and character which he has maintained. He appointed Lecture (Now termed as Assistant Professor) in Atmospheric and Ocean Science in Allahabad University on 29 October 2009. Dr. Pandey’s 1st researcher from India who contributed to Indonesian Throughflow problem using Princeton Ocean Model during his research. At present he focused his study on annual and inter-annual variability of India Ocean using RAMA, TRION, ECCO2 and GODAS data.
