VINDEX is a classic heavy metal band from Slovakia playing music based on energetic power metal riffs combined with nimble guitar neo-classical melodies and rough sounding vocals. The band started in 2000 as a studio project of bass guitarist and composer Ronnie König, who was later joined by his friends, guitarists Jozef Rigo and Ado Kaláber. Failing in finding a drummer, they recorded the first and only demo using a drum-machine. The vocals on it were already handled by LudÄ›k StruhaÅ™, the current vocalist. LudÄ›k is also known as a ex-drummer of PREMIER, once one of the top-selling rock bands in former Czechoslovakia . Ronnie's brother Tommy has been around the band since the very beginning as the lyricist. Another change of the line-up happened also when Jozef, was replaced by Maroš MiÄ?ek. Positive reactions to this self-released demo called Rise Up! attracted the attention of Adrian Ciel, a drummer who completed the band’s ranks and enabled it to establish as a live act. Ambitiously, the band started immediately playing their live gigs. The first two dates took place nowhere else than on two biggest summer rock festivals which were organized in Slovakia in 2004 – More Than Fest in Martin and Masters Of Rock in Senec . There they shared the same stage with bands like Helloween and recently reunited Europe. Their live activities continued also during the following year, although the band focused on rehearsing and recording new studio material, which comprised more tracks than for just one album. The debut album Power Forge has been released by Italian label Steelheart Records in September 2005. It comprised a special guest appearance of RAGE´s guitar maestro Victor Smolski. Unfortunately, the album got literally no support from the label and could not reach its audience. Meanwhile, the band invited Jano Tupý to become their keyboardist. This line-up recorded another full-length entitled No Middle Ground released by Slovak label Streetproduction in October 2006. Prior to its release Adrian left the band. That’s why the band’s first video ever, Read the stars, has been filmed with the help of Ľubo Lauko. A sample from Read The Stras has been frequently aired as a part of promotional tv advertisment announcing a new Slovak rock magazine Rock Planet . However, it was only in the first half of 2007 that the steady line-up was completed again. Stronger than ever, reaching for the new level of musicianship, the band invited two new members. An experienced skinsman Robert Jarský and a young guitar virtuoso Filip Koluš, replacing Maroš. The renewed band has already started to record yet untitled new album planned to be released in 2008.
