Victoria Taranova

Victoria Taranova aka Victoria Terranova is a soprano who was born in Kharkiv (then in the USSR, now in Ukraine) into a family of musicians.
Her father Lev Taranov was the founder and conductor of a unique ensemble of accordion players (children and adults). The ensemble played classical, popular and Lev's own melodies. Her mother Irina Osipenko is a piano teacher and helped her husband by training players of the ensemble. Possessing a nice voice she was the first person who introduced Victoria to the world of vocals.
Victoria Taranova, a graduate from the Academy of Arts with Master of Music (M.M) degree in addition to her Bachelor of Music (B.M) degree from Music College began her operatic and philharmonic career in USSR: (The Marriage of Figaro Mozart, Il matrimonio segreto Cimarosa, program Vita Nova Vivaldi).
Mrs. Taranova enhance her performing skills at the International Vocal Arts Institute (Metropolitan Opera - New Israeli Opera) by studying and performing with some of the greatest stage masters such as: Alfredo Kraus, F. Cossotto, F. Davia, E. Obraztsova, V. Rözsa, Ljuba Kazarnovskaya, Nico Castel, and J. Dorneman.
Victoria’s talent was noticed and got encouragement from world-wide known tenor - Giuseppe Di Stefano (long term performance and recording associate of Maria Callas), and soprano - .
Victoria toured throughout Europe with numerous performances as an opera and a chamber singer (La bohème Puccini, La traviata and Rigoletto Verdi, The Magic Flute Mozart, Lucia di Lammermoor Donizetti, Cardillac Hindemith, Russian-German LiederAbends and many others).
For the past several years Taranova has settled in North America, and took part in a considerable number of concerts and opera staging (Lucrezia Borgia Donizetti, Don Giovanni Mozart, various concert series). Victoria Taranova also participated in radio and TV broadcasts in the former USSR, Israel, Germany and Canada ("Bravo", CFMT).
