He is one of the players who were scouted from Safaricom's Sakata Ball in 2010 to NYTA for professional football development.
After his apprenticeship, he was forwarded to Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi City Stars in 2011 to develop his game at the highest possible level.

From F.C. Talanta Okullu moved to KCB for the first six months of 2016. He returned to F.C. Talanta at the start of 2017 after a massive overhaul of the side that did duty in 2016.
In June 2017 Okullu was one of four players roped in by Premiership side Mt Kenya United F.C.. He featured for the club till the end of that year. Thereafter he was back to where it all began - at Nairobi City Stars.
