VetFran

VetFran is a discount program of veterans franchises aimed at military veterans leaving military service. VetFran is a strategic initiative of the International Franchising Association (IFA) offering veterans franchise fee discount incentives, training and mentoring to veterans interested in veterans business opportunities and/or a career path in veterans franchising.
History
Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative, known as VetFran, was developed to help and honor men and women who have served in the U.S. military, and assist transition to civilian life.
VetFran is a voluntary effort of International Franchise Association member-companies that offers veterans franchises discounts designed to encourage veterans franchise opportunities by offering financial incentives to honorably discharged veterans.
VetFran was founded by the IFA in 1991 in an effort led by Chairman Don Dwyer, Sr. (USAF, Ret.), founder of The Dwyer Group, to support veterans returning from the Gulf War transition to the civilian economy.
The International Franchise Association (IFA) is the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising worldwide. VetFran includes nearly 500 IFA franchisor member companies.
VetFran programs have helped military veterans get into their own business. . VetFran has helped a military veteran start up a painting franchise, and a home inspection business.
Veterans franchises negative campaigns
Veterans that tried franchising and had poor results, are warning their former platoon buddies to avoid Veterans franchises. Automotive-tool franchise Matco Tools is the subject of budding negative campaigns about veterans franchises.
