Veritasism

Veritasism is a religion in which the environmental effects on the mind are studied and confronted, in a way that the ultimate goal is natural peace within the mind. In Veritasism, the worship of a great being does not occur at all. Nor does the idolization of a higher being take place systematically, but rather on an individual and personal base where one is the key to a higher understanding and peace. One’s critical thinking and understanding of the “here” and “now” is the true glorification and is emphasized at all levels of natural peace and knowledge. Veritasism advocates the understanding and importance that the environment has on every person physically, socially, and most importantly emotionally/mentally. The understanding of this concept is a set of doctrines known as ecodonous. The concept of the religion, Veritasism, is directly related to the works of Alfred Globus, and his book, Veritism: The Relationship of Science to Theology. The book goes in-depth about the relationship between the environmental contributing factors that can affect one's mind. This is where the initial belief system and practices of Veritasism came from. Veritasism and Veritism: The Relationship of Science to Theology directly coexist in the fundamental beliefs and practices.
Basic beliefs
The basics beliefs of Veritasism are that the environment affects the mind and psychosocial aspects of humanity greatly. It is ones duty to face and conquer these negative and positive effects that the environment has on everyone. By doing so, one will enter a level of higher truth and understand. This truth will bring natural peace and happiness at all times, for one will be unaffected by the negative effects the environment will have on the mind. The mind will be accepted the positive affects though, and become enhanced by a higher state of reality and consciousness. If one rejects this concept they become extremely susceptible to negative influence the environment has on the mind. This can range from small, early affects such has unhappiness, or frustration, to, over time, greater affects such as: heavy stress, and ultimately cause one to commit suicide. Everyone is different and the effects of the environment affect everyone different. Some are more prone to the positive affects while others and more prone to the negative effects. Though, most fall in the range of neutral effectiveness, all three areas can greatly achieve and benefit from the teachings of Veritasism.
Views on other religions
Veritasism doesn’t not condemn or support any other religions. Veritasism believes that spiritual enlightment is not something that can be gained from worshiping a higher being, but instead through understand the environment and knowing one’s self, and therefore being able to control how the environment affects one. Veritasism views it’s self as a different breed or category of organized religion and would like to not be acquainted with any other religion.
View on society
Veritasism views society today as melting pot, that many different belief and cultures and mixed together. Veritasism also doesn’t look or judge individuals on race or class. Veritasism views everyone as one, and sees that all human are same in the aspect that they need the same basic necessities to survive. Veritasism also sees that all humans are affected by the environment differently, and have therefore different beliefs and a different psychosocial understanding. It also recognizes that there is a universal goal in life, and that is to live pain free, and with natural peace and happiness. Veritasism views its self as the best and most effective way to achieve that goal.
Views on human nature
Veritasism dismissed the idea that all humans are born with a certain nature and set of moral understanding. Veritasism highly disagrees with a genetic human nature and views these ideas to be very dangerous to society and individuals. Instead, Veritasism believes everyone thinks the way they do and has their own set of morals because of the environment they live in. This has been shown in many studies done with twins. Also, studies have shown that when ones environment is changed to enhance their learning ability, the subject learning ability is enhanced; proving that environment is the main factor in ones learning ability. Many believe that humans are naturally greedy, competitive, corruptible, and destructible. Veritasism views this as wrong, and views those as symptoms of the environment that we live in. If one lives in a society where greed and corruptively are present and widely seen, a human will adapt those morals and behaviors. If humans live in a society where companionship, attention, love and peace are present, humans will grow up to be loving and peaceful. There is no evidence that shows that humans are born with the instinct to be greedy and corruptible. The evidence shows that it is one’s environment that shapes the way they act and interact with others. Studies have been shown that environment can cause serve negative affects. The Albert tests are an example of phobias being influenced by the environment. Environmental conditions are much more powerful than genetic influences in determining intelligence, social psychologist Richard Nisbett. Children in a good home with parents that stimulate intelligence become more intelligent, compared to children growing up in a home with alcoholic or abusive parents. Veritasism’s goal is to enrich people about the effect of the environment so they can learn and change it to make it beneficial to human growth, both physically and mentally. The only way to do so is to conquer the present day environmental effects that strangle hold our minds and create a natural state of natural peace. This will then negate the negative effects of the environment.
Ecodonous
Ecodonous is a word that stems from the Latin words eco (translates to environment), duco (translates to influence), and nous (translates to mind). Ecodonous is the understanding that the environment has an immense impact on our mind, and therefore social and psycho interaction with society. The environment is the root cause of joy and pleasure, as well as stress and . Everyone’s environment has affected them in a different way, and this has led to a difference of positive and negative views and actions between to people. What is not different though is the concept of living life to the fullest and living with pain and suffering, as well as stress and . Environment is by far the number one and frankly the only source of stress and depression. One can argue that there is a genetic correlation between stresses one receives, but this is only a predetermination. One’s environment can easily overrule the predetermination. At the same time, a predetermination can be negatively affected. For example, a boy who is born with traits that make him athletic can be overruled if his diet is terrible or if he grows up in a place where sports aren’t present. His predetermination for being an athlete was negatively overruled. The point of Veritasism and ecodonous is to utilize this concept and train the mind to control how it becomes influenced by negative and positive environmental factors. Negative effects the environment can have on the mind can range from not having enough money, to the death of a loved one or the rejection of happiness. Those negative environmental factors cause stress and depression to occur. Positive environmental factors are the companionship one may share with another or the love and happiness of living pain free. These cause positive effects on the mind like happiness and peace. If one could be able to control how the environment affects the mind, they wouldn’t feel the negatively effects and would live stress and depression feel. One would also be able to make sure that the positive effects that the environment has to offer are absorbed to their full potential. Thus, the purpose of ecodonous and Veritasism is to enable one to control the influences the environment has on their mind. For this to occur one must open their mind and accept all environment influences. If they are open to all, then they will be able to evaluate and experience the effect the environment has on their mind. The person must then go through a process where they assess how the positive and negative effects of the environment affect there mind. Once one understands how their mind is affected by the environment, they can then begin to control what the environmental factors and influences affect them. This is the key concept of ecodonous, which will then let one expel the negative influences the environment can have on them, while fully excepting the positive influences.
