Veritas Financial Group formed in 2007, is one of the largest undergraduate organizations at Harvard College and has a reputation for producing leaders and innovators in the financial services industry. It has close associations with many Wall Street firms and is oficially sponsored by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and Merill Lynch. The educational organization works in collaboration with Harvard Business School to prepare Harvard students for careers in finance. Since the undergraduate curriculum at Harvard does not permit a finance concentration, Veritas Financial Group fills a void by providing its members with the background necessary for post-graduate work experience. Colloquially refereed to as VFG, it is noted as the only organization on campus that facilitates a direct relationship with Harvard Business School. Program Veritas members complete a financial literacy program known as financial universe during their introductory year. The may then apply to various advanced tracks: Private Equity / Mergers and Acquisitions,Trading, and Real Estate. Guided by Harvard Business School Professors, MBA Students, and professional mentors in the industry, members apply their skills to extensive case studies, buyout proposals, proprietary trading, and international business competitions. Senior members also have the opportunity for to collaborate with local firms in term-time internship positions.
