Variations on the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Game

The trivia game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is in itself a variation of the concept called Six Degrees of Separation which states that every person on Earth is no more than six "steps" away from every other person. The popularity of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game has spawned many variations on the theme. Below is a list of some of those variations and how they are "played."

From Kevin Bacon to Anything - All players navigate to Kevin Bacon's article page. Someone suggests a topic which becomes the goal of this round. The object of the game is to get to that topic's article page by clicking hyperlinks starting with any links found on Kevin Bacon's article page. Points are awarded for the most direct route to the topic, and for the quickest time to the topic (i.e. the player who reach the goal page the fastest). user Raulpascal suggested this variation on the discussion tab of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon article.

Six Wikis to Kevin Bacon - Same as From Kevin Bacon to Anything except that the players click the 'Random Article' hyperlink and use the links the random article they land on to try and get back to Kevin Baon's page. (The Random Article link can be found in the 'Navigation' box in the upper right corner of each article page.) user Coredumperror gave the game its name, but Raulpascal suggested it first on the discussion tab of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon article.

Non-actor variations

The object of this variation is for each player to determine their own personal Kevin Bacon number (i.e. "steps" to Kevin Bacon). For example, user Ward3001 knows Caitlin Wachs, who starred with Bacon in My Dog Skip. Therefore Caitlin has a Bacon number of 1, giving Ward3001 a Bacon number of 2.

Non-film variations

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon's Bed - The website, Famous Hookups.com, has a variation that is based on the romantic relationships that actors and actresses have had in real life. For example, Sharon Stone has a Bacon Number of 5 because she dated Stephen Bing, who dated Uma Thurman, who dated Nicolas Cage, who dated Sarah Jessica Parker, who dated Kevin Bacon.

Non-film, non-actor variations

Six Degrees of Kevin's Bacon - The object of this variation is for each player to determine their own personal Kevin Bacon "Relationship Number." For example, if they have dated a person who has dated a celebrity, they may be able to link themselves to Kevin Bacon through a series of relationships.
