Vanessa Violet Johnston (born 26 October 1991) is an American actress, beauty queen and model. She won Miss Minnesota Teen USA in 2009 and advanced to Miss Teen USA 2009, finishing 19th. As an actress, she has starred in House M.D. (2011), The Doctors (2011) and How I Met Your Mother (2010). Pageantry Vanessa participated in her first pageant in 2009, aged 17. Surprisingly, she won this pageant and advanced to Miss Teen USA in Nassau, Bahamas in July. She didn't place within the Top 15. She has returned to the pageant scene since. Johnston starred in Cycle 15 of America's Next Top Model in 2010. She was in the opening episode but was eliminated at casting in the first episode. Acting Vanessa has had small and some uncredited roles in various television shows. She was Tara in the hit series How I Met Your Mother in 2010 for only one episode, of which was uncredited. In 2011, she had roles in House M.D. (uncredited), The Phillip DeFranco Show as Catherine Stewart for 1 episode and in Black Box and in The Doctors. Personal life Violet graduated from high school early and attended New York Film Academy until February 2010. She moved to Los Angeles, California where she currently lives.
