Usman Ali Awheela is a Nigerian academic. He is the Rector of Best Global Business and Financial School, Founder and Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, Founder and Chief Executive of Institute of Forensic Accountants, Director General of Academy of Entrepreneurship and Business Management, Principal Consultant of Awheela Forensic Accounting Consultants and also Principal Consultant of Awheela Cost and Management Accounting Consultants. Early life and academic career Awheela was born on 10 August 1956 in Chori, Kaduna State. He attended Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School, Gidan-Waya between 1966 and 1972 and proceeded to Government Secondary School (now Government College), Funtua in June 1972. He obtained a Diploma in Accounting in 1987 from Sussex College of Technology, England; Postgraduate Diploma in 2001 from University of Calabar, Nigeria, MBA in Accounting in 2003 from Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria, Ph.D in Accounting in 2006 from Irish University Business School, U. K., M.Sc in Criminal Justice in 2010 from Southwest University, Louisiana, U. S., DBA in Entrepreneurship and Business Management in 2011 from California Intercontinental University in U. S., Ed.D in Higher Education in 2012 from Charisma University in the Turks and Caicos Island and also from the same University in 2014, he obtained his LL.D. In the year 2008, Awheela was appointed Professor of Forensic Accounting by Irish University Business School, U. K. and in 2013 he was appointed Professor of Education Management by Charisma University in the Turks and Caicos Island. Membership of professional bodies In 2003, he was admitted as a Member of Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM), Nigeria; he was also admitted as a Certified Financial Consultant (CFC) of the Institute of Financial Consultants, U. S. and a Fellow Member (FAIA) of the Association of International Accountants, U. K. In 2006, he was admitted as a Chartered Business Administrator (CBA) of the Chartered Association of Business Administrator, U. S. and Fellow Member (FIMS) of the Institute of Management Specialist, U. K. In 2007, he was admitted into membership of the following professional bodies which include Chartered Management Consultant (CMC) of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, Canada; Doctorate Member (DIPFM) of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers, U.K.; Chartered Certified Financial Consultants (ChMC) of the Canadian Association of Financial Consultants and Fellow of Forensic Accountants (FFA) of the Institute of Forensic Accountants, Nigeria. In 2009, Awheela was admitted Fellow Member (FCPA) of the , a Certified Forensic Accounting Professional of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants, U. S. and was also admitted as a Certified Internal Control Auditor of the Institute of Internal Control, U. S. In 2010, he was admitted as a Certified Financial Accountant (CFA) of the Society of Certified Financial Accountants, Canada and was also admitted as a Fellow Member of Society of Business Practitioners, U. K. In 2011, he was admitted as a Fellow Member of the Institute of Forensic Accountants of Pakistan. In 2013, he was admitted a Certified Fraud Specialist of the Association of Certified Fraud Specialist, U. S. In 2014, he was admitted as a Fellow member (FCPA) of the Association of International Certified Public Accountants, U. K. In 2015, he was admitted as a Fellow member (FCPA) of the Certified Public Accountants Association, U. K. and Fellow member (FIPA) of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia and was a Registered Professional Accountant of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
