Urban Reforestation

Urban Reforestation is a movement which is occurring around the world, whereby people are cultivating, farming, and reforesting their own urban patch.
In Australia
Various projects around the world are involved with this movement. One such organisation that promotes this movement is Urban Reforestation, which is a social enterprise that started in Australia. Urban Reforestation aims to inspire and enable sustainable living in the urban places. It is involved in several projects including the Politecnico di Milano Community Garden “Convivile Orto”, the Noble Park Community Centre Garden, the Docklands Convivial Garden Project, eco-markets in places throughout Melbourne, five local food dinners in Docklands, Melbourne, the International Forum on Sustainable Cities and Peri-Urban Agriculture: “On The Edge”, and the Brentwood Secondary College Learning Garden.
Urban Reforestation was finalist at the United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA) World Environment Day Awards 2011 in the Peter Szental Award for Sustainability Entrepreneurship category.
