urArtist network was formed in 2009 by Brian Huston, former vice president of entertainment for Bodog Music (Imperial Tobacco, Labatt). Huston called upon producer Greig Nori and Cool Planet Entertainment founders Cameron Carpenter and Todd Arkell. During an appearance on Aux TV’s “Something New”, Arkell called Huston the brain child of urArtist network who encouraged the three men to bring their resources and industry knowledge under one roof. While on AUX TV’s ExploreMusic, Carpenter also described urArtist network as a conglomerate of entertainment companies working together under one umbrella.
Before the birth of urArtist network, Greig Nori was the lead vocalist for the rock group Treble Charger (1992-2006) and the founder of Bunk Rock Entertainment in 1999. Nori also managed and produced Canadian punk band Sum 41, helping the Ajax, Ontario natives reach international acclaim. Nori was host of Much Music’s disBand, Nori has also produced music for Iggy Pop, Hedley and Marianas Trench.
