Unreleased Dannii Minogue songs
|
The following is a list of songs recorded by Dannii Minogue, but that were chosen not to be used on her studio albums and singles, and remain unreleased. Some have been sent to other recording artists for them to record for use on their albums instead.
Young Talent Time (1982-1988) Between 1982 and 1988, Minogue appeared as a performer on the Australian weekly music programme Young Talent Time. Minogue lip synced her performances of popular pop songs to studio recorded backing tracks. All of these backing tracks remain unreleased.
Mushroom Records (1990-1997) Love And Kisses
Up until the release of "Jump To The Beat" it's b - side "Hallucination" remained unreleased. "Hallucination" was also released on the compilation "Dannii - The Remixes" as "Hallucination (L.A Remix)", though it is basically the same mix with slight alterations. Otherwise basically all songs recorded around that time were released.
Get Into You
Minogue began recording her second studio album, Get into You, in 1992. Minogue's official webmaster confirmed that two songs recorded for the album remain unreleased. According to Minogue's official webmaster, the song "Hold On" was due to be released as a single prior to the recording of "Show You the Way to Go". It remains unknown why the song was not included on Get into You.The following songs appeared on a MCA master album in the United States: *"Being in Love" *"Feels So Good" *"If Your in Love With Me" *"Hold On" *"Never Let Go"
Third Mushroom records album She began recording her third album in 1995, however, Minogue and her record label, Mushroom Records, parted ways in late 1995 following a disagreement regarding which territories the album would be released in. According to her official fanzine, Love and Kisses, Minogue wrote and recorded songs with multiple dance music producers. They are as follows:
The producers *The Rapino Brothers *Love to Infinity *Soul II Soul *One World *D.N.A *Terry Ronald *Motiv8
In 1995, Minogue performed the songs "Everlasting Night" and "Free Your Love" at various live events including Pride 1995 and at Birmingham's Subway City Club and was broadcasted on the TV Channel "Live TV". While "Free Your Love" remains unreleased, "Everlasting Night" was rerecorded in 1998 and released as an Australian-only single in 1999. The original studio version remains unreleased..
In 1998, Minogue performed an unreleased song from the canceled album on her Unleashed concert tour titled "Don't Want to Leave You Now" (Dannii Minogue/Ian Masterson/Terry Ronald).. These songs might see a release in 2008 through future re-releases.
Coconut is the only track from 1995 album that has been released, appearing over the credits in the bonus section on Dannii Minogue: The Complete Collection. This version is different from the version release on the Girl album.
Eternal Records (1997-2001) In 1997, Minogue released her third studio album Girl. The previously unreleased single mix of "Someone New" and unreleased song "Keep Up With The Good Times" are now being released on the deluxe version of 'Girl', however one unreleased song remains (although it was only a rough cassete demo).
*"Unreal", which is a cover of a song by Dreamworld.
London Records (2002-2003) Neon Nights In 2002, Minogue began writing and recording songs for her fourth studio album Neon Nights. According to Minogue's webmaster, interestingly enough "It Won't Work Out" was scheduled to be released as the final single from Neon Nights with "Each Finger Has an Attitude" as a double a-side. A promotional CD single later appeared on the internet auction website eBay. It was never released though because of lack of time to promote and Minogue's dislike for "Each Finger Has An Attitude", which is a vocal version of the original club instrumental track by French electro duo, Grand Popo Football.
DJ Roger Sanchez co-wrote two songs with Minogue and Terry Ronald that remain unreleased, but aren't believed to have been recorded. They are as follows:
*"Shed My Skin" *"Broken" *"Give Me Some of That" (Jens Bjurman/Per Kalenius/Lisa Greene/Dannii Minogue)
Minogue also did some additional collaborations during this era with Henrick Korpi and Blackcell. They were originally going to be on her new collection 'Unleashed', but had to be cut at the last minute due to not being mastered in time. *"Karma Is A Bitch" (Dannii Minogue, Henrick Korpi, John Mathias, Negin) *"Weak" (Dannii Minogue, Henrick Korpi, John Mathias, Negin)
Second London Records album In 2004, Minogue supposedly began recording her fifth studio album, but due to her record label restructuring Minogue and her record label parted ways. Although almost all of the songs from this era are now being released on Dannii's new collections 'Unleashed' and 'Club Disco', there are still a few songs from the era that will remain in the vaults (including the highly sought after Fear Of Flying). They are as follows :
*"(Tut Tut) Does Your Mother Know?" (Cheryl Parker/Dannii Minogue/Sarah Eker/Gareth Young) - leaked onto the internet in 2005 *"Honey Pot" (Cheryl Parker/Dannii Minogue/Sarah Eker/Gareth Young) *"Girl Confused" (Cheryl Parker/Dannii Minogue/Sarah Eker/Gareth Young) *"Karma Sutra" (Savan Kotecha/Dannii Minogue/Jacob Schulze) - later recorded by Denise Lopez *"Welcome the Teardrops" (Dannii Minogue/Guy Roche/Billy Steinberg) *"Loving You All Over Again" (Dannii Minogue/Guy Roche/Billy Steinberg) *"Star" (Ian Masterson/Dannii Minogue/Terry Ronald) *"Not Tomorrow" (Dannii Minogue, Peter Martin, Nina Woodford) *"Fear Of Flying" (Dannii Minogue, Henrick Korpi, John Mathias, Negin) *"Healing On The Dancefloor" (Dannii Minogue, Henrick Korpi, John Mathias, Negin)

On the site this information given was a title for the album "Sex Dice". #"Honey Pot" #"Sex Dice" #"Does Your Mother Know?" #"Karma Sutra" #"You Won't Forget About Me" #"Girl Confused" #"Fear Of Flying" #"Welcome The Teardrops" #"Loving You All Over Again" #"Not Tommorow" #"Healing On The Dancefloor" #"Blame It On The Music"
All Around the World Records (2004-present) In 2005, Minogue began recording songs for a new album. Most of the songs from this era will now be released through Dannii's 2006 greatest hits collection "The Hits And Beyond" and her 2007 digital release "Club Disco". However, a few songs will still remain unreleased (although 'Start A Fire' and'In Her Shoes' are believed to have been only written, not recorded). They are as follows :
*"Back In Love" (Joachim Bjorklund/Dannii Minogue/Terry Ronald)- considered for inclusion on The Hits & Beyond, but was not released as it was believed to sound too much like work from her previous album, 'Neon Nights' *"You Know What It Feels Like (Shake It Off)" (Dannii Minogue/Morjac/Nina Woodford)*"In Her Shoes" (Joachim Bjorklund/Dannii Minogue/Terry Ronald) *"Homeward Bound" (Henrik Korpi/Mathias Johansson/Dannii Minogue/Lisa Greene) *"Start a Fire" (Fredrik Odesjo/Henrik Jonbake/Dannii Minogue/Lisa Greene) *"Free to Fall" (James Khari/Jean Claude Ades/Dannii Minogue) *"Message in a Bottle" (Dannii Minogue/Harry James/Kara Dioguardi) *"Devil On My Shoulder" (Dannii Minogue/Ross Callum/Terry Ronald) *"The Sounds" (Felix Starbuck Howard/Henrick Jonback/Dannii Minogue/Fredrick Odesjo/Terry Ronald) *"Girl Confused" (Dannii Minogue/Gareth Young/Sarah Eker/Cheryl Parker) *"Swingby Baby" (Dannii Minogue/Ross Callum/Terry Ronald) *"Loving You All Over Again" (Dannii Minogue/William E Steinberg/Guy Roche)
