UniversityJunction.com is an academic reference network that aggregates information from world class institutions, with the end goal of helping undergraduate students learn more efficiently. Through the network, students are given access to directly relevant information for each of their specific classes including practice exams, previous assignments and class notes. UniversityJunction.com is a platform for students in North America to share knowledge and help each other better understand course concepts.
UniversityJunction.com is currently available at 119 universities in the USA and Canada. As of April 2009, the site had over 2,000 users and 1.1 million pieces of classroom information.
History
The beta version of the site was launched at the end of February, 2009 by a small team of recent graduates. UniversityJunction.com’s parent company LookNow Ltd. was founded in 2000 with offices in New York City and Ottawa.

Resource Explorer
UniversityJunction.com uses Web 2.0 concepts to generate user content, rank, review, and recommend academic information. The site functions similarly to Blackboard or WebCT and allows students to share course-specific materials with both classmates and users studying similar topics in parallel classes at other universities. Each resource can be rated for accuracy to ensure the reliability of the information.
Resources are available for subjects including but not limited to: Accounting, Algebra, Biology, Calculus, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Psychology.
Legality
UniversityJunction.com aggregates freely available, non-copyright academic resources (such as Open Course Ware content and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. It requires students to comply with their university’s ethics policy in order to become members.
Another feature allows students to flag material or posts they deem to be violate copyright or ethics policies. Once a file or post has been flagged, it is removed from the website.
Despite measures to make UniversityJunction.com an anti-cheating site, many critics continue to view it as such.
