Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited

Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited (incorporated in 2018) is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the construction and operation of a 584MW gas-based combined cycle power plant at Sonargaon, Narayanganj, Bangladesh on a Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) basis for 22 years.
History
Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited (UMPL) is a joint venture establishment of Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited, Strategic Finance Limited, GE Capital Global Energy Investments B.V, and Nebras Power Investment Management B.V.
Meghnaghat 104MW Power Plant in Narayanganj was one of five power projects with a combined capacity of 779MW that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated.
Unique Hotel and Resorts Limited (UHRL), a sister company of the Unique Group, and Strategic Finance Limited (SFL) have signed a Sale & Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Nebras Power Investment Management BV ("NPIM"), a wholly owned Netherlands affiliate of Nebras Power Q.P.S.C. to purchase a 24% equity stake in Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited (UMPL) in Bangladesh.
The Project will use combined-cycle technology and run on natural gas or re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG). The Project consists of 9HA.01 model of GE's H-Class Gas Turbine (GT) which is the world’s most efficient and largest heavy-duty gas turbine, a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), and a Steam Turbine (ST).
