UnchainedTV is a free streaming and social media news and entertainment network to promote a plant-based, sustainable lifestyle for human health, climate change mitigation, and to end needless animal suffering.
Overview
UnchainedTV is the signature brand of JaneUnchained News Network, a 501c3 non-profit corporation based in California. It runs a streaming television network called UnchainedTV. The network is free to download on Apple or Android phones and television via Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV device, Roku device, and all Samsung Smart TVs. UnchainedTV is also viewable for free via its online portal and the network website.
UnchainedTV does LIVE breaking news coverage of trials centering around the issue of animal rights, and cases to counteract the national broadcast news media's apparent blackout on the animal rights and vegan movements. It collaborates with filmmakers and non-profits focusing on climate change, ending world hunger, improving human health, and fitness, wildlife conservation, habitat preservation, and animal welfare, and promoting a healthy, plant-based, cruelty-free, low-carbon footprint lifestyle.
UnchainedTV TV network streams over 1,000 documentaries, cooking shows, cooking competitions, reality TV shows, celebrity profiles, trials, LIVE events, mini-docs, talk shows, and music videos, all with the theme of compassion to all beings, human and animal. and famed Former Assistant US Attorney and current defense attorney Bonnie S. Klapper.
It features various non-profit organizations and celebrity plant-based chefs with their own channels within the streaming network, including Farm Sanctuary, Orangutan Foundation International, Care for Wild, Big Cat Rescue, Friends of Bonobos, GenV, Switch4Good, Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project, Plant-Based Treaty, PETA, Animal Save Movement, Climate Healers, Wicked Kitchen, Chef AJ, Plant-Based in the Burbs, OMG! History
UnchainedTV was founded as Jane Unchained in November 2014 by Jane Velez-Mitchell, a veteran journalist, New York Times bestselling author, and former CNN journalist, where she hosted her show for 6 years on CNN Headline News/HLN. She previously worked as a reporter at the syndicated TV show Celebrity Justice and as an anchor/reporter at KCAL-TV in Los Angeles and WCBS-TV in New York City.
In 2022, Jane Unchained was officially rebranded as UnchainedTV. This transition signified the evolution of the platform from a specialized news network focused on veganism and animal rights into a more comprehensive streaming service. The revamped UnchainedTV now offers a wider array of content, including documentaries, cooking shows, and live news segments, aimed at promoting a plant-based lifestyle and addressing global challenges such as climate change and animal welfare.
In 2024, UnchainedTV partnered with FAST Channels TV to launch the UnchainedTV Food & Lifestyle Channel, a FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channel. This collaboration expanded UnchainedTV's reach, allowing audiences worldwide to access content focused on plant-based living, health, and climate change. Russell Foy, CEO of FAST Channels TV, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting its potential to deliver unique and transformative content to a global audience. UnchainedTV remains dedicated to providing free, nonprofit, plant-based streaming content, including documentaries, cooking shows, and live events, aimed at promoting a healthier, sustainable lifestyle.

It is a 20-episode Original UnchainedTV series produced in conjunction with Eamonn McCrystal of Inspired. The show has been nominated for 8 Taste Awards and won 2 Taste Awards, considered the Oscars of food. Along with streaming on UnchainedTV, it also aired on local public television stations around the U.S. via NETA. Pig Little Lies
UnchainedTV's reality TV show starring a family of pigs. The first animal rights-themed reality TV show stars Los Angeles-based country singer Simone Reyes, TV journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell, wildlife rehabilitation expert Cindy Brady, and pigs Dante and Beatrice. The series conveys a serious message by exposing the myth of "Teacup Pigs," which don't exist. They are baby potbellied pigs falsely sold as micro pigs, which, when they grow, are routinely dumped.
Peeled
An all-vegan cooking competition show produced by VKind, where vegan chefs cook to raise money for worthy causes while competing to impress four celebrity judges. In the end, only one was named Hottest Vegan Chef and got a chance to have their winning dessert featured by the international vegan restaurant chain, The Copper Branch.
In 2024, UnchainedTV premiered a new original series titled "Kale Krew," which takes viewers on a vibrant culinary tour of Chicagoland's burgeoning vegan scene. The show features a diverse group of plant-based food enthusiasts who explore the Windy City's top vegan eateries, showcasing innovative dishes, sustainable practices, and the thriving community of vegan chefs and entrepreneurs. "Kale Krew" not only highlights the delicious and creative vegan options available but also aims to inspire viewers to embrace a plant-based lifestyle. The series has been praised for its engaging format and its ability to spotlight the cultural significance of veganism in one of America's most dynamic food cities.
