National super hero day

On April 28, 1995 a few of the folks down at Marvel Comics wanted to create a day to celebrate their favorite childhood superheroes, and thus National Super Hero Day was born.

Each year since 1995, people who are true believers have gone out in costume and participated as their favorite super heroes and also villains. Since its beginning, the holiday has gathered quite a following and may one day turn into a cult as big as the interesting following surrounding the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Interestingly, some participants even go so far as to paint their faces and role play as their favorite super heroes.

This holiday has been recognized by Dartmouth College students and was even celebrated one night at the Kappa Kappa Kappa fraternity at 1 Webster Avenue.
