Ultimate Boney M. - Long Versions & Rarities is a series of compilation albums of Boney M.. Volume 1 Ultimate Boney M. - Long Versions & Rarities, Volume 1 is the first of a series of Boney M. releases, gathering the original 12" versions, non-album tracks and alternate versions of the group's recordings. Volume 1 sums up the group's most successful period, the years 1976-1980 and features 12 tracks of which six have never been available on CD before. Several of the tracks are mastered from vinyl. Volume 2 sums up the years 1980-83, a period which saw a decline in the group's popularity, and the group's charismatic dancer Bobby Farrell being replaced with singer Reggie Tsiboe in 1982.
