The University of Central Florida Police Department was created in 1963 in compliance with Florida State Statute. The Department is comprised of approximately 60 sworn state law enforcement officers. Each officer is responsible for enforcing local, state and federal laws and statutes "on or about" the University of Central Florida campus. Each law enforcement officer has full arrest powers and carries a firearm (glock 17) and taser. The police department is located off of Libra Drive on the main campus.
