Tyrone Relph

Tyrone Relph is a 29 year old musician and songwriter from Ireland. He began his career in his early teens playing bass with funk and rock bands like soapstone. He graduated to a full time musician at 15 fronting rock band Tré winning numerous awards for best song, live band and Irish band of the year at the millennium Buzz Awards. Tré also were finalists in Manchester’s IN THE CITY festival in 2000 alongside artists like Cold play. Tré’s first 2 recordings (The Reason & Only Sun) sold out within their first weeks sales in Virgin mega stores.
Tyrone Left Tré in 2001 to forge his way as a solo singer songwriter before signing to **** records in 2002 who released his debut solo record “Laid Bare”.
The tour lacked support from his label, and the album was a slow burner and consequently didn’t chart and only started to sell more when Tyrone split from his said label. which was also thanks to BBC RTÉ and UTV TV slots playing the two biggest weekend talk shows within a week of each other performing to over 500,000 viewers in 1 week.
Tyrone toured extensively in throughout Ireland, England including a busking tour of Europe he undertook with a suitcase full of wine and no wallet on a dare that someone said he couldn’t.
In 2003 after returning to Ireland Tyrone formed his own record company Bunker Influence records (B.I recs) and began self financing his new record. He renovated and rebuilt his long time home studio affectionately named Bunker Studios which was his drinking den since childhood.
His 2nd Album “The reasons we bleed” was accepted widely in Ireland and London’s underground music scene as of its dark nature and saw Tyrone play solo for a few years on the back of the album making friends and playing shows with acts like Hothouse Flowers, James Taylor James Blunt and Noel Gallagher as an opening regular for Channel 5’s Pepsi Chart Show in London’s Sound republic.
After that solo tour Tyrone toured quite extensively, and then returned to Ireland to contemplate his third record.
“Princely ransoms from the paupers address” was recorded again mostly in Bunker Studios and is composed of the tracks written from his previous solo tours helped by long time drummer Pete Faloon and bassist Patrick Collins. Opting not to tour the album Tyrone and band performed and a few intimate venues including The Zodiac Sessions album launch in Feb 08 which is a compilation of Some of Ireland's finest songwriters like Ray Heffernan (who originally penned “Angels”, brought to fame by Robbie Williams). Also in 2008, he was in the studio putting together a collection of tracks he is releasing through B.I Records towards the end of 2008. This album will be toured extensively and Tyrone is also signing with a new publicist for the launch.
In 2010, after an extended break, Tyrone finished his 4th studio album "these leather lullabies" again with the help of Robin Robyns (of bob Seger & the silver bullet band). A small tour was done in the uk with Tyrone playing with acts like basement jaxx, Carl Barat - the libertines.
The new album is available on iTunes and will be physically released in late 2010.
In August 2010, Tyrone's song "new suns" (featured on "these leather lullabies") was nominated for the Suzuki/MTV independent Songwriting award and went on to win the award outright and so Tyrone has been invited to make an appearance at this years MTV Europe music awards in Madrid in November.
