Tyrell "Crow" Crowell (born 13 October 1989 in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American professional basketball player. As of 2012, he's attending the Bakersfield Jam (NBA D-League) training camp in October. He attended Patterson High School from 2005 to 2009, where he played point guard and led the Patterson Clippers from an 2-18 record to an 18-6 record, the best of his career. He also won MVP and led the school in assist all three years he played and also was selected to the Baltimore City All-Star team as an senior. Crowell has been sometimes compared to another outstanding Patterson guard Aquille Carr, due to there short stature and explosive speed, electric ball-handling and toughness. High school career A native of Baltimore, Crowell is known for his hard work on and off the court, quickness, and ball-handling. As a sophomore, he led his Patterson Clippers to a 13-6 record a best at the time. then he continued to improve himself along with the school's record with an 16-5 his junior year and a 18-6 record his senior year. He also was the first to grace the front page of the Baltimore Sun sports section for the Clippers, when they posted an upset over Northwestern. While his teammate Trevor Howze hit 10 three pointers and also posted 19 deep balls in a two game stretch a Baltimore City record. Adding to the accomplishments as a sophomore, he led the team in assists and steals almost getting an triple-double the first game of the year against Southwestern with 15 points, 10 assist and 9 steals. During his junior season, he scored 29 points 7-7 from the field and 5-5 from downtown against Dunbar, but the Clippers still came up short losing by 1. By this point he started to make a name for himself performing at his peak against the top guards and schools in the city. In the same year he led the Clippers to the playoff appearance in 25 years and again leading the team in steals and assists. In his senior year Crowell led Patterson High School to an 7-game win streak to start the season and their third straight playoff berth. Also for the first in school history the Clippers was 55 ranked in Maryland and 10th ranked in the city. In that same season they knocked off Mervo, Dunbar, Poly, and Northwestern, some of the top schools in the city. Crowell earned the respect of the city and his teammates by playing hard and stepping up win the pressure was on. To top it all off he grapped the school's MVP award, while leading the Clippers in steals and assists for the third year and second in points per game and rebounds per game. Also getting selected to the Baltimore City All-Star team. College career Throughout high school Crowell had numerous Division I schools recruiting him, but due to a poor start to high school he chose to attend Howard Community College. As a freshman he led the Dragons in steals and assist and was named the 10 top freshmen point guard in the NJCAA at the time. Just the second game of his freshmen season he recorded an double-double with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals. He finished the season averaging 15 points per game, 5 rebounds per game, 7 assists per game and 2 steals per game. Sophomore year started out the same with Crowell leading the Dragons but sadly an serve ankle injury cut his college career short in the 2011-2012 season. Under Armour In 2011-2012 Crowell was selected to star in an Under Armour commerical titled "Are You From Here?" that also stared NBA stars Brandon Jennings, Kemba Walker and Derrick Williams. The commercial was a hit and successful for all in Baltimore, to see on of there own ont he nationwide stautre again. Under Armour also Landed Crowell a billboard in sports stores across the country.
