Tyler Ramsey (artist)

Tyler Capen Ramsey (born December 3, 1973) is an American artist, known for his "drip painting" of shoes for company Toms Shoes and for painting only with his fingers, rather than with brushes.
Art
In 2013, Ramsey completed a very large commissioned mural that is central to the design of a new building at Oral Roberts University. He also completed a commission to create eight paintings for the United Nations to celebrate their "Millennium Development Goals".
Ramsey travels throughout the developing world lobbying politicians and inspiring children in destitute neighbourhoods by painting murals with them.
In 2013, as a piece of performance art, Ramsey lived in a glass box painting and performing for Tom's Shoes while attempting to break a world record.
In 2018, Ramsey joined TOMS Shoes philanthropic mission to end gun violence. The initiative was launched by TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie with a $5,000,000 donation to organizations campaigning to end gun violence, the largest corporate donation ever made to this cause.
As part of the initiative, TOMS commissioned powerful gun violence murals across America. Ramsey spearheaded the mural project.
Other activities
Also in 2013, Ramsey was part of a plan to rescue human rights and free speech activist, Ali Abdulemam, from captivity in Bahrain. The plan became public when The Atlantic published an account of the scheme.
