Two Coats of Paint

Two Coats of Paint, a member of the national Culture Pundits network of art blogs, is a daily digest of reviews, commentary, and other writing about painting and related topics. Sharon Butler, an artist, writer, blogger and associate professor of visual arts at Eastern Connecticut State University, created the blog in 2007. Butler's articles, which address art and culture, appear regularly in The Brooklyn Rail and The American Prospect. Her painting, digital, installation and video projects are included in private collections in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Baltimore, Tampa, Philadelphia, Providence, London and Kyoto. She has received many awards, including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. Butler lives with her husband and daughter in Mystic, Connecticut, and New York City.
