Turkish Airlines Flight 1754

On 5 January, 2011 Turkish Airlines Flight 1754 was Boeing 737-800 aircraft on a short haul flight from Oslo, Norway to Istanbul, Turkey. When the flight was over Bulgarian airspace a Turkish man put on a mask and tried to enter the cockpit, demanding to return to Norway. The hijacker also said that he had a bomb and that he would blow up the aircraft. Some passengers overpowered the hijacker and the flight safely landed at Atatürk International Airport at 9:30 p.m. The pilot notified emergency services before landing. All 60 passengers and seven crew got off the aircraft; none were injured during the incident. The hijacker was arrested.
