The company was founded in 1937 as Interstate Engineering Corporation, as a designer and manufacturer of aircraft for the US Government. Later they were a pioneer in consumer home cleaning and vacuum systems. TriStar Enterprises, L.L.C. acquired the business in 2000 and continues to manufacture and market home cleaning products in North America.
