The Trinidad and Tobago Mathematics Olympiad (TTMO) is a joint project of the University of the West Indies (UWI), and the Ministry of Education. It was conceived in 1986 with only one examination at the National level. Trinidad and Tobago started participating in the International Math Olympiad (IMO) in 1991 and have been competing ever since. The TTMO administers two rounds of mathematics competitions involving all secondary schools in Trinidad & Tobago. The best performing students are invited to join the training sessions in mathematics at the UWI. Through a series of selection examinations, a National team of up to six students is selected to represent Trinidad & Tobago at the IMO.
